Rosemary Farina Lauded for Excellence in the Recruitment Industry
Ms. Farina channels years of expertise in staffing to her work with Signature Staffing
Rosemary Farina has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Farina’s willingness and ability to take on new challenges, learn new things, work hard, act with integrity and persevere through adversity all have helped shape her career and contributed to her success. While there were many twists and turns along the way, her ability to connect with people and follow her instincts with respect to business situations has served her well over the years. These attributes have all combined to make her the successful entrepreneur and business owner that she is. It was successful from the start.
But things change, the economy goes through cycles. Other businesses had a strong impact on her company. She knew she had to be lean and mean in order to survive. It was important to keep her overhead low, to never take too much money out for personal gain but just keep putting it back in the company, to have integrity and never lose sight of the importance of that. She stayed true to her mission throughout, running a boutique recruiting agency with high standards for both the candidates and the clients. This proved to be her recipe for success. It was critically important to listen carefully to both what the client wanted and what the candidate was looking for. Making good solid matches was key; if the client was happy then she would get more business and referrals. The same held true for the candidate. She did not want to send a parade of people in for a job. Finding the right person for each job was her goal.
Drawing on years of experience in vendor negotiations, staff management, compliance and more, Ms. Farina presently excels as the president and chief executive officer of Signature Staffing Inc., a women-owned business venture. As the head of the organization, she investigates candidates, oversees daily business operations, maintains a contract with the government and handles the company’s finances. Since establishing the company in 2000, she has attracted new business across numerous industries, negotiated salary offers on behalf of her clients and successfully ran offices in three locations. Alongside her work, Ms. Farina owns and manages several real estate ventures and has sat on the board of trustees for ten years at 910 Beacon Street, which is owned by the Copley Group.
In many ways she inherited her mother’s fearless attitude and belief in her abilities, a feeling that there is nothing she could not do. The fortitude and the focus are intense, but it is just a drive she has always had.
During the early stages of her career, Ms. Farina gained valuable experience in recruitment as the executive vice president of Abbott Personnel Consulting, through which she trained new employees and utilized innovative solutions in the marketing and placements aspects of the industry. While with Abbott Personnel, she also worked as a contract recruiter for KPMG LLP, where she had direct interactions with hiring managers.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Farina attained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Boston University. In order to remain aware of ongoing industry changes, she maintains professional alignment with the National Association of Professional Women. Additionally, she dedicates herself to others as a volunteer lead with Hero Helpers of America, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and Wounded Warriors. Ms. Farina has also donated toward the renovation of Boston City Hospital’s Pediatric Waiting Room and Library. She gives generously to cancer research, as well as other charitable contributions.
In light of her breadth of knowledge, Ms. Farina has been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, recognized as a Woman of Distinction in Strathmore’s Who’s Who, and Boston Voyager as a Boston Entrepreneur (http://bostonvoyager.com/interview/meet-rosemary-farina-signature-sta … l-district. In the ever-evolving landscape of the recruitment industry, she takes the most pride in being able to reinvent herself and being retained as a business expert on an AM radio show twice before being asked to host her own. Within the next five years, Ms. Farina aims to parlay her expertise into consulting work or return to the air as a radio host.
