Real Estate Paralegal

We are seeking a Real Estate Paralegal in Boston to become a part of our team! You will provide overall support to attorney’s business needs. This firm offers a lot of flexibility in terms of working remotely often from home, after being trained.

Small Downtown law firm seeks real estate paralegal with 4+ years of experience handling purchases and sales of commercial and residential real estate and residential and commercial loan closings.

Candidate must be comfortable using conveyancing software; experience using the E-Closing and/or Simplified platforms a plus. Candidate must possess a solid understanding of Massachusetts conveyancing practices and be comfortable drafting, generating, and understanding all documents used in connection with real estate purchases and sales and loan closing, including, without limitation, purchase & sale agreements; closing disclosures; deeds; powers of attorney; title insurance documents (policies, commitments, closing protection letters, etc.); ALTA settlement statements; declarations of trust and trustee certificates, and the like. Candidate must be familiar with the processes relative to obtaining and/or preparing title reports/examinations; loan document packages; title insurance policies; mortgage payoff statements and discharges/releases, municipal lien certificates; certificates of good standing, and the like.

The candidate will be expected to independently perform each step of the conveyancing process from inception through closing/recording.
The candidate will also be expected to assist firm attorneys with the drafting of legal correspondence; leases, and all types of real estate documents, including zoning opinions and enforceability letters.

The candidate will be responsible for executing and monitoring various banking transactions in connection with real estate and loan closings. The candidate should, therefore, have some familiarity with the QuickBooks software program and general law firm accounting practices.
